Updates

During the past few weeks, Orlando Public Library visitors have been hearing the sounds of construction on our 2^nd floor and many have excitedly asked, “What’s going on behind the walls now?”  This week we can offer a sneak peek of the construction area that will become the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation & Creativity.  This area is now a “hard hat area,” however; our Skanska representative gave us a behind the scenes look.  Here are some of the photos we took on the tour.  We are looking forward to eventually showcasing the “before” and “after” photos here on our blog.  Keep checking in with us for further construction updates.

If you are planning to visit the library this weekend, come to our Basic Electronics Using Snap Circuits interactive workshop at 2pm on Sunday and stay for our 3:30 pm Machines, Motion and Engineering using K’NEX interactive workshop.

We know that there has been a lot of interest in developments regarding the Melrose Center.  We are happy to announce today that we’ve just posted two new positions for the Melrose Center.  We need a Fab Lab Instructor and an Audio Production Instructor.  You can access information about these positions on the Jobs section of our website.
